Our History:

In 1950, Sentinel began as a stocking Distributor of Corning Pyrex® Brand Glass Pipe, Fitting and Vessels, and associated components. In the early 1980's, Corning Process Systems asked their largest Distributor – Sentinel, to help them by integrating Pyrex® Glass equipment into small process systems in the Philadelphia area. While Corning concentrated on the larger, more intensely engineered systems and complete production plants, we supported our pharmaceutical, biotech and specialty chemical customers with their “smaller” system needs. Over the next 10 years, our territory and integrated systems business grew to encompass the entire Northeast US and ultimately the country. During that time, many changes have taken place and the companies involved have been bought and sold. Throughout all the changes in names and personnel, Sentinel still remains dedicated to our systems integration business and our customers.

Today, we call our integration business KiloLabs.com and offer our customers a myriad of products and services. Our main facility, still located near Philadelphia, PA consists of 12,000 square feet of fabrication shops and warehouses. Sentinel's engineers, technicians, sales and customer service personnel are experienced in what we do and are highly trained. Our technical staff is always ready to assist our customers by offering a broad range of products and services.

Along with the systems integration business, Sentinel continues to be a specialty Distributor of equipment dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry. We still maintain high stock levels of all the spare parts required for the equipment we build as well as glass piping systems & hardware, vessels and components. If you need a new TR or DICH gasket, KF flange and insert or, any QVF or Schott fittings – we have them or will make them. Custom parts from any material can be fabricated by Sentinel or one of our business partners.

Equipment Philosophy:

For the ever changing market of the API and Specialty Chemical industries, Sentinel provides flexibility and service only an independent process systems integrator can provide. Our engineers will work with you on a simple agitated glass vessel with a condenser and receiver or, design a fully automated Hastelloy system which will fully conform to GAMP and CFR 21 compliance issues. Our many component manufacturers and partners are all highly qualified and skilled and allow Sentinel to offer our customers more than any one manufacturer can. We provide you with choices in both materials and designs which are unparallel in the marketplace today.

We have years of experience with process equipment in a variety of materials of construction. Most systems have a borosilicate glass component due to the unique properties of the material. No other material known to man is as pure and corrosion resistant as Duran® or Pyrex®. Unlike lab equipment, our glass components are ALL made with industrial or process glass. Process glass provides specified wall thicknesses greater than that of laboratory ware. Our systems are pressure rated and will hold full vacuum in full compliance to DIN and other equally strict standards.

Our unique design and construction approach is based on the need to replicate the process plant in the scale up laboratory. We are very cognizant of and experienced with the potential difficulties with process scale up and the rigorous challenges that exist on “the plant floor.”

Our system designs are specifically intended to provide you with standard US components, which are stocked locally. Our experienced customer service people are ready to assist you and your staff.
